Alain Chabanon has established his winery in Languedoc in 1989. His domaine, producing on average 5000 cases per year, is now recognized to be among the top 10 in Languedoc-Roussillon. The respect for the life in the soil is Alain’s first priority: The estate has been organic since 1992 and has adopted biodynamic principles in 2007. Yields are kept low and the soils are ploughed. The work in the cellar is admirable too: long ageing in old oak barrels or in concrete eggs for its top cuvees. Alain aims to produce exceptional wines that are subtle and elegant, with a true identity of their terroir; Wines that would become even more complex after several years but that are delicious young.
