Winery:
Astrolabe is a New Zealand producer, based in Marlborough at the top of the country's South Island. It produces a range of wines from classic New Zealand grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as Albariño, Riesling and late-harvest Chenin Blanc.Astrolabe was founded in 1996, and named for a French ship, l'Astrolabe, that was known to have explored the coast of New Zealand in 1827. Grapes are sourced entirely from Marlborough, including the Awatere Valley and the Kekerengu Coast. These come from both estate-owned vineyards, and from select growers around the region.
