Description:
This wine has really blossomed and is already looking very pretty with no evidence of any excess tannin. Beautifully perfumed with sumptuous fruit that spreads broadly across the palate. A relatively forward 2010 but bravo! Tasted blind. Mid ruby. Meaty and evolved. Lighter and spindlier than most. Just a bit skinny with lots of sucky-stony character. 48 hl/ha. Very dark crimson. Attractive fresh minerality.

Borie-Manoux was founded as Borie Freres in Pauillac in 1870. After 1945 one of the brothers, Marcel Borie, took over the existing company, renaming it Borie-Manoux and moving the headquarter directly to the city of Bordeaux. Marcel Borie ran the company until 1961, when his son-inlaw Emile Casteja took over; taking Borie-Manoux on the trail of expansion. Until today, the Casteja family remains 100%-shareholder of Borie-Manoux and has acquired 10 Chateaux in Bordeaux. During the 20th century, Borie-Manoux also acquired a number of Negociants and opened its own production and stocking facilities on 3 hectares surface directly in Bordeaux.
