Château Larose Trintaudon is a Cru Bourgeois wine producer located in Bordeaux's Haut-Médoc. The vineyard is known for being one of the largest in the Médoc in terms of size and production, producing more than a million bottles a year. The grand vin is a classic Bordeaux blend of 60 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 40 percent Merlot. The estate has a history dating back to 1719, but it was not until 1838 that Henry Delaroze planted the estate's first vineyards on a gravelly hillside parcel named 'Tenement de Trintaudon.' In the 1920s, most of Château Larose Trintaudon's vines were pulled out as the then-owner tried to establish industrial dairy farming in the Médoc. It was not until the 1960s that the semi-abandoned château was brought back to life by the Forner family, owners of the esteemed Marques de Caceres winery in Rioja, with the help of Emile Peynaud, a well-known oenologist and wine consultant. Château Larose Trintaudon has been owned by the insurance company Allianz since 1986.
