Château Peyre-Lebade is an estate in the Haut-Médoc appellation of Bordeaux, producing a single Merlot-dominant red wine of the same name. The estate dates back to the 12th Century but, by 1979, the property had become run-down and was purchased by Baron Edmond de Rothschild, who already owned the nearby Château Clarke in Listrac and Château Malmaison in Moulis. The vineyards were drained and replanted, existing buildings were renovated and new ones constructed. The three properties, now owned by Edmond’s son Baron Benjamin, are overseen by the same technical team.
