Didier Gerbelle is a young and driven winemaker whose dream is to revive, establish and showcase the unique indigenous grape varieties of his home, Valle d'Aosta. He has resurrected some of the varietals that became extinct after the devastation of phylloxera. The region is a small mountainous valley at the north-west corner of Piedmont, characterized by very high altitude vineyards (up to 4,000 feet above sea level), steep, terraced vineyards.
Wine Making:
Grapes come from pre-phylloxera vines. The wine spends 5-6 days on the skins, followed by 24 months in a combination of new French barriques and French tonneaux.
Style:

Full-bodied oaked
Dominant Flavour:

Black Fruit

Floral

Sweet Spice
Food Pairings:
The wine is not suitable for spicy food. Suggest to pair with the red meat dishes. Duck will be the good choice.
