Description:
The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin En Jouise is made in a fresher style than some of the other entry-level wines. This reveals more aromatic delineation, higher-toned fruit, considerable freshness and more elegance overall. It is a fine effort from Harmand-Geoffroy.
Winery:
Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy
Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy is a family-run estate that was established in the late 19th century. The domaine encompasses 9 hectares of vineyards, all planted to Pinot Noir and situated exclusively within the boundaries of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The viticulture is traditional: the soil is turned by tractor, which permits the roots to reach deeply in their search for “terroir”; no chemical fertilizers are applied nor are insecticides used; the harvest is manual. The vini cation is equally traditional, Harmand-Geoffroy wines are packed with Gevreyness – the intense personality that marks wines from this famed commune.
