Quinta da Ribeira is located in Meca, in the medieval council of Alenquer, and is nowadays headquarters of Society Agrícola Felix Rocha. This society began producing wine in the mid XIX century, by the strength of enthusiasm of Mr. Felix Rocha, great grandfather of the present managers. The fourth generation of the family recognized, since 1991, the need for continuous investment in the production. There has been a complete restoration of the vineyards and the cellar. Nowadays it explores several hectares of vines, distributed between Quinta da Ribeira, Casal do Mato, Casal Novo, Quinta de São Cristovão and Quinta do Baracho. The vineyards are planted in argilo-calcareous soils, in smooth steep hillsides with solar exposure to the south. In these vineyards one can find national varieties like Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz (Aragonez), Fernão Pires, Arinto, Viosinho and Moscatel, and international varieties such as Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Alicante Bouschet, Caladoc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc.
