Description:
85% from Juffer. Pungent passionfruit aromas. Crisp and very bright fruited with crunchy ripe fruit. This has changed slightly. In 2012 and 2013 they have been going down in RS because they realise people are drinking them with spicy foods and so on. Very cool and fresh. 48g/l RS. For purity. Jancis Robinson 85% from Juffer. Winery:
Fritz Haag
Fritz Haag is a wine producer located in Brauneberg in on the Mosel river. It produces a complete range of wines made from Riesling, from dry expressions to luscious botrytised wines. The well-known Erste Lage vineyards Brauneberger Juffer and Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr are synonymous with Fritz Haag, which is also known by the name Dusemonder Hof. In total, vineyard holdings cover 19 hectares (46 acres), and the vines are planted on Devonian slate soils on a slope of up to 80 degrees. This terroir is well-suited to Riesling, providing a cool, well-drained environment that allows for full ripening without sacrificing acidity. As a result, Fritz Haag wines are intense and balanced, and many of the top examples can be aged for many years. Today, Fritz Haag is headed by Oliver Haag who took over in 2005 after training at well-known estates such as Weingut Dönnhoff in the Nahe and Weingut Karthäuserhof in the Ruwer. Fritz Haag is a member of the VDP and produces a range of Prädikatswein with various sweetness levels.
