Description:
The vineyards are located between 600 to 700 m a.s.l. on the North-East slopes of the Etna volcano. On Etna soils are sandy and very rich in iron and nitrogen left by previous volcanic eruption. The color is ruby red with a refreshing palate of red fruits and smooth tannins, the final is mineral and long.
Winery:
Graci only cultivate traditional varieties indigenous to Mount Etna and aim to respect local traditions as well as the distinct characters of each vintage. Graci believe that only by listening carefully and responding to the expressions of Nature in our territory can be great wines be born. Arcurìa is a single property at the heart of the Etna DOC measuring 18 hectares – at an altitude of between 600 and 660 meters, mainly planted on Nerello Mascalese.
Wine Making:
The wine is traditionally fermented in cement vats using only indigenous yeasts with skin contact for around 30 days. It is aged 18 months in cement with spontaneous malolactic fermentation and further ageing period will occur in bottle for two months before being released on the market.
