100%
Pinot Noir
Region, Subregion, Country:
Loire, France
Description:
This wine with its characteristic connotations of red fruits (cherries, morellos, strawberries...) is subtly woody. On the palate, it reveals good roundness and a light, pleasant astringency (tannins from the grapes as well as the oak barrels) assuring good aging for 8 to 10 years.
Winery:
Henri Bourgeois
For 10 generations, we have put our passion and values as winemakers in the service of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir to develop wines of great character. Every member of our family, Jean-Marie Bourgeois, Arnaud, Lionel and Jean-Christophe, brings his talent to the Domaine. Located in Chavignol, in the heart of the best soils of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, we cultivate a mosaic of parcels in respect of our terroirs of Kimmeridgian marl, flint and limestone clay. In 2000, after a long quest, we decided to extend the family adventure by creating a vineyard in organic farming in Marlborough, New Zealand. Here too, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir blossom on the fabulous terroirs of this region. As for Jean-Marc Bourgeois, the eldest son of Jean-Marie, his love of good products is reflected in the cuisine of his restaurant in Chavignol, which revisits the traditional dishes of Berry. It also offers charming stays on the banks of the Loire, just two hours from Paris, in its Hotel-Restaurant The Côte des Monts Damnés in the heart of Sancerrois.
