La Morandina takes its name from the Morando Family, which has been resident in the same area of Piedmont since 1580. The firm's holdings now extend over 21 hectares of vineyards covering rolling hills in the heart of the Moscato d'Asti zone: Castiglione Tinella. The exceptionally high clay content in the soil here is the key to quality; Moscato loves clay even more than Barbera and Castiglione has the highest clay content of any commune in the DOCG.
Wine Making:
Natural fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 1 month, for a rich and persistent “prise de mousse”. Bottling is carried out 5-6 different times during the year, to keep aromas and freshness at their best.
