Le Dôme is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru produced by Château Teyssier and created by Jonathan Maltus (who came here in the early 1990s), Neil Whyte and Cyril Beziat, with Gilles Pauquet as consultant enologist. This unique vineyard with less than three hectares, located next to Angélus, has the greatest concentration of Cabernet Franc for a Bordeaux wine at this level. Indeed, 70% of the vineyard is given over to this grape variety, the rest being covered with old Merlot vines. The vines were planted in the 1950s on sandy soil which lies on top of a layer of subsoil containing iron oxide.
