I was a little surprised to see this long-established large wine estate in the company of up-and-coming contenders, but Konstantin Guntrum quite obviously relished his inclusion. The Niersteiner Riesling was very pleasant and approachable, but a little too old-fashioned in its soft sweet-and-sour expression. Easy-drinking yes, avant-garde no. Michael Schmidt
