Description:
Colour: Bright In the glass it’s a deep, reflective warm red with hints of pink and orange at the rim. Nose: This bright six-year-old has enticing aromas of red berry, pressed rose, dark cooking spice, leather and a balsamic note A beautifully expressive nose of cherry kirsch, blackberry, orange peel, cacao nibs, dried roses and violets, warm spices, and leather. Palate: Balancing ripe fruit and finesse, the juicy palate delivers succulent cherry, cranberry, star anise and white pepper set against a backbone of refined tannins and fresh acidity. A savory mineral note closes the lingering finish. It's smooth and enjoyable now but will offer years of fine drinking pleasure. Enjoy through 2027.

Region – Ghemme, Piedmont, Gaudenzio Fontana and Carlo Platinetti, grandfather and great-grandfather respectively of the current heirs of the company, began growing vines in the early 20th century, in the best-suited areas of Ghemme (Baragiola, Val Maiolo, la Rosa and Ronco al Maso). In particular, Gaudenzio, born in 1889, after taking part in the First World War, vinified grapes - from the 1920s to the 1950s - from his vineyards in his own wine cellar in Via Interno Castello, in characteristic Ricetto di Ghemme. In the first half of the 1970s, Gaudenzio's son Mario set up azienda Agricola Platinetti Guido. They continued to cultivate the existing vineyards and planted the first steeply sloping parcels of land on the first hill towards the village. In this area, called Ronco al Maso, marked by excellent south-west exposure, it was possible to claim the new designation of origin for the wine produced: Ghemme DOC. These vineyards are still producing wine today. Over the years, the rooted vine cuttings of the original planting system have developed deep roots. These can penetrate several metres into the fluvial-glacial soil to search for nutrients andminerals, which, assimilated by vines, are released into the grapes and subsequently pass, year after year, into GHEMME DOCG Vineyard Ronco Maso wine.
Wine Making:
Vines: 40 years minimum age. Harvest: picked by hand, carried out in the second half of Oct. Wine making:Fermentation can take from 10 to15 days in stainless steel tanks under temperature control.
