Description:
“This wine offers little primary fruit and has austere notes of mineral and spice instead. These ancient vines produce fruit that shows depth and complexity. In fact, this wine is indeed expressive and distinguished, although it is a bit short and dusty on the mid-palate”. (Monica Larner)
Winery:
Tenute Bosco’s properties lay upon the slopes of the estates of Piano dei Daini in Solicchiata and Santo Spirito in Passopisciaro. Among these, 4 hectares trained as “alberello”, traditional free standing method, ungrafted and pre-phylloxera vines, more than 120 years old. The recovery of the property started in 2010, thanks to the work of Sofia and Concetto Bosco.
Wine Making:
Fermentation at a controlled temperature for 20 days, with daily cycles of cap punch-downs. The wine ages in 700 litres French oak tonneau for 12 to 14 months, in steel vats for at least 3 months and a minimum of 12 months in the bottle.
