Description:
The 2014 vintage produced wines that are more accessible at a younger age than most vintages. Although accessible, the wine will continually improve over the next 10 years at which point the wine will achieve it’s optimal drinkability for at least a further five years. The 2006 growing season was very similar to the 2014 vintage and we expect the vintages to age similarly. When drinking this wine in the first 6 years from vintage we do suggest decanting it for an hour or two before serving to open up the bouquet and soften the tannins.
Winery:
Warwick
Built in 1791 under the name ‘Good Success’, the estate was re-named to ‘Warwick’ by Colonel Gordon in 1902 as a tribute to his regiment. Since 1964 Stan & Norma Ratcliff are its proud owners and the first to plant quality grapes for winemaking. It was Norma who, after the first attempts, was so impressed that she went to Bordeaux to study winemaking techniques. The very first Cabernet Sauvignon was released in 1984, which remains the flagship of the estate even today. At Warwick, each wine tells a story from the family’s or estate’s history. In addition to the Cabernet Sauvignon, which is also used for the ‘Trilogy’ series, the Sauvignon Blanc is highly praised for its impeccable value and quality and a favorite of many who have tried it.
